If you have time for only one, it may be best to choose one near where you are staying (although getting around is not a major problem if you have strong preferences). I have been to Wet 'n Wild and Blizzard Beach so can only compare these.

WnW has a better selection of "thrill" slides and this will probably suit older children more. It also has other activities such as Knee-Ski which can be fun too. A disadvantage of WnW compared to BB is the overall setting which may appear a bit bleak (lots of concrete and no real theme) but the slides etc are definitely better.

BB has a wider variety of slides (more tame ones than WnW up to Summit Plummet which is nearly as good as some of the best ones at WnW). It is probably better for the whole family, with plenty of things for all ages. For me, the main advantage of BB over WnW was the Lazy River which is a great way to relax and pass some time between going on all the slides. If you have young children, I would say BB is better.

Are they open year-round? Busch Gardens' Adventure Island (the best!) closes for the winter.

Compare prices - in our opinion, either Disney waterpark is better than Wet & Wild. However, if you're just buying a waterpark ticket, I believe the Wet & Wild is more economical. The Disney water parks can be added as a plus on your Disney ticket for a reasonable price.

Which one? Do you want a more adventurous experience? Then Blizzard Beach. If you're looking for a relaxing day in a gorgeous setting, Typhoon Lagoon. Both parks have funnel cakes...I'm sure you were hoping they would. :-)

Disney tends to have one or the other open during the winter months, but not both.

At the Disney parks, you can buy a mug that gives you unlimited drink refills for the day. We just bought one and the whole family slurped from it but we're not that squirrelly about sharing family germs.

Another vote for Blizzard Beach (closed for refurbishment 10/23 to 12/24). Second choice would be Typhoon Lagoon (closed for refurbishment 12/25 to spring 2006).

I've seen frost on the ground in the a.m. in early April; better make sure the day is nice and warm!

I've been to Blizzard Beach and Wet n Wild and prefer Blizzard Beach.

thanks for the replies! I guess we will just have to hope for 1 day nice enough to go....however Dec23-Dec30 I am sure the chances are very slim. I guess we will go with the disney park that is open!
