Orlando Trip - HELP!
Hi - We are leaving on Thursday to Orlando. My husband has a conference, and my 3 1/2 year old daughter and I will have Thursday afternoon, all day Friday and Saturday morning.
What to do?? I know there's lots ... I posted earlier that I was thinking about Sea World. I'm now getting cold feet after reading that there's lots of walking. I'm really not confident about doing WDW for one day - think it will be too overwhelming for her. Any thoughts on what to do? Mostly concerned about Thursday. We have reservations for Thursday night at Wolfgang Puck's cafe downstairs. Any other restaurant recommendations? My daughter's a great eater so we dont' need a place with chicken fingers, etc. Thank you!!! |
Animal Kingdom would probably work the best for a day. You could also go to Downtown Disney to walk around to get the "Disney Experience" without having to go to a park. Magic Kingdom itself would be hard in a day but with a 3.5 year old, you probably would just be spending your time in a small portion of the park (Main St, Fantasyland). May not need to worry about the rest except for maybe walking through.

It has been a long time since I was 3 1/2 years old, but here are a few ideas:
Blue Spring State Park http://www.floridastateparks.org/bluespring/default.cfm It's winter and the manatee are probably "in". This is about 25 miles N of Orlando but is a good place to see manatee in their natural habitat. Winter park Scenic Boat Tour http://www.scenicboattours.com/ Boggy Creek Airboat Rides www.bcairboats.com Also, the Animal Kingdom suggestion isn't a bad one either. |
I think a 3 and a half year old would be thrilled with the Magic Kingdom. Keep your day to a reasonable schedule. Some attractions are theatre seating, Small World and Peter Pan's are laid back. Avoid the strenuous. Keep you pace reasonable and keep it short and I think you could have a great day together.
Animal Kingdon is an excellent recommendation. If your daughter hasn't been to the Magic Kingdom, she'd love it. |
My kids loved Sea World at that age. It's a very nice park and simply rent a stroller, which I would suggest at any of the parks. I think that you have alot of great choices in Orlando, and a child at the perfect age for most of them. Don't feel anxious about any of them - she will probably have a great time wherever you go:) Personally, I would spend the day at Magic Kingdom or Sea World.
