Orlando restaurant, non-Disney?
 

While in Orlando next week I will see my niece who is doing a Disney internship. I would like to take her to dinner, preferably at a non-Disney restaurant as I am sure she has had her fill of those. Any suggestions? She doesn't care for sushi but otherwise anything is fair game. I'd lke it to be a nice place but not formal. Thanks!

Either would be suitable for a young person and you too. Good food and it won't break the bank either. Have fun!

Also consider Columbia, the Cuban restaurant in Celebration.
Casual but with excellent Cuban from great sandwiches, soups to fine entrees.

Thanks, folks - I think I have been to a Bahama Breeze in another part of Florida and enjoyed it so that may be the choice.

If you go to the Cypress Grant Hyatt Resort they have a casuale but good place in the grounds called Hemingway's. Definitely not Disney and not many kids.

Lots of good suggestions! I'll throw Cafe Tu Tu Tango in there as a place that could be fun for a younger person. It's a chain, but has an interesting selection of tapas. And then there's my standby, Seasons 52.

Just made reservations at Columbia for my son's college graudation dinner in Orlando-his request. He also speaks of Seasons 52 but was kind enough not to impose that expense upon us for this particular dinner. We havent found a lot of non chain places in our frequent trips to Orlando. It's filled with chains.

Yes, just ask and we'll be happy to recommend non-chains. Many of them will not be in the tourist areas, but are certainly worth a short drive.

Well, we ended up at Bahama Breeze and it was just fine. My expectations were not high but I must say the grilled wings appetizer was quite tasty, ribs may not have been the best ever but certainly were good, and the dulce de leche cheesecake was very good. Prices were reasonable, atmosphere casual and service very good.
