Orlando one day, wich amusement park should I go see??

we will be one weekend pre-cruise in Miami and there is a tour that leaves miami at 6h00 am and returns at midnight. It includes admission to one of the orlando's theme parks. I don't know wich one to choose, any suggestions? Every park in orlando is offered for the same price, 105$ for admission and return trip

Short, flip answer: "Go to the one where you've never been to the original out west."

Long answer: If you've never been to a Disney park and probably won't get to one again in your life AND you don't like good rides, I'd go to Walt Disney World.

If you like good rides and are over the age of 10, I'd say MGM-Universal.

Go to Sea World if you want that sea animal-centered thing.

Personally, I'd pass on Orlando (WDW is lots of fun, but...) and spend the whole weekend in Miami, but that's me.

If you like great theming and wonderful coasters and ride, go to Universal's Islands of Adventure.

thanks for the replies. I have been to walt disney world before when I was in grade 3, but my g-f has never been there. The weather for saturday is supposed to be cloudy with possibility of tunder showers, would one of the parks be better for less good temperatures?

My daughter use to live near Orlando and her favorite park was Universals Islands of Adventure...

I don't see your age posted anywhere but I have always enjoyed epcot. They have some new rides and it is always relaxing to walk around and vicariously tour other countries in the international gateway

Here's another vote for Islands of Adventure. It is fantastic, not only the rides but the shows and the themed areas. You won't regret this choice!

Definitely Universal Islands of Adventure.

Posters on this board are always quick to recommend Universal's Islands of Adventure - but this is not the place to go if you are not a roller coaster enthusiast, IMHO. Not everyone (young and old) loves thrill rides, and that's what IoA's claim to fame is. For the best variety I'd agree with the poster about Epcot. You can do a couple rides and attractions, but mostly stroll, take in a show, and a nice dinner in one of the "countries." My personal favorite is Disney's MGM - a couple thrill rides, but big on atmosphere, and a lot of fun for movie-lovers. And finally, if your girl friend has never been to Disney, and has a nostalgic side, she might just enjoy the good ol' Magic Kingdom. Have fun!

If you've never been there before, Magic Kingdom, the original (first) park, especially if you'll have children with you. My own personal favorite is Epcot.

I have a question for you.

Tell us what you would like to see or do. Shows, wild thrill rides, dolphins or just a leasure day seeing new sights. I am sure you've seen all the literature. We can better offer an opinion.
Bear in mind that Miami is 250 miles from orlando.Interstate all the way but still a minimum 4 hours ride each way.
I live in Orlando.

Without a doubt, Disney's Magic Kingdom. It is a warm happy place. Take time to enjoy the sights. After 15 trips, it still beats anything at Univeral or Sea World imho.

Islands of Adventure has only two "thrill" roller coasters--Hulk and Dueling Dragons. The rest of the rides/attractions are WONDERFUL and can be handled by most people.

Hands Down go to Islands of Adventure. WDW is overrated, MGM is fun, but you cant beat Islands of Adventure. Nothing like it anywhere!

I would do Disney and go to Epcot and Animal Kingdom. We loved the Animal Kingdom. There are several good shows there, like The Lion King, and if it showers you can still get around and see things.

I think you can get a 1 day pass for all 3 parks, so do that not Universal, we thought it was not nearly as fun as Disney. Also when we were at Universal 3 of the rides we wanted to try broke down, so we were not impressed and even got a free pass for a future visit because so many rides broke down at once.

There is so much to see at Epcot and some good restaurants and then the Animal Kingdom, do the safari ride.

I am not sure you can buy a one day park hopper anymore for the Disney parks..
They used to give these to Florida Residents three times a year but it seems Florida Residents months are now more to do with hotels and less to do with the parks--I think they offer a 4 day Florida resident, but I don't imagine that many Florida residents do disney for that long. (They may be good for months though I think now!) I still reccomend Epcot--but don't see much about your age/preferences. The new Mission Space is supposed to open soon I believe. Test track is lots of fun. It is always entertaining to be inside the BIG BALL, figment is back, blew up the audience is great, the Land is relaxing. Some beautiful 360 circle movies too in the countries.

We just returned from Orlando. Islands of Adventure, easily. If you aren't into the thrill rides, there is still plenty to do. Spiderman is worth the price of the ticket alone. Also, a boat ride to the new Portifino Bay Hotel (inside the park) is well worth checking out, and will give you less busy restaurant options. The hotel is beautiful, and the restaurants are very good. It's a nice end to a busy park day. I found some VERY good internet discounts right on the Universal website.
