Orlando in November.

A friend and her daughter are planning to go to Orlando for 2 weeks commencing November 24th.and she is a bit worried about temperatures at that time of year.We have been to Florida many times, but not in November. Will the Christmas decorations be up, or is it too early? Also she will not be driving, but the hotel (International Drive) provides transportation to Universal, Islands of Adventure & Seaworld, however, she also wants to visit Disneyworld and wants to know if public transport goes to Disney or will she have to get a taxi.(cost?)Again we cannot help her as we always drive.Any advice will be welcome.Thank You.

Not staying on either Disney property or Universal property, Orlando will be hard to do without a car. Orlando/Kissimmee/Lake Beuno Vista are very spread out.

I highly suggest your friend either rent a car to stay at Disney while doing Disny and stay at Universal while doing Universal.

Because the parks are spread out, very few, if any hotels will offer shuttles to both parks.

Weather should be mild. Upper 60s to low 70s daytime high.

Christmas decorations are starting earlier and earlier here. They come out just after Halloween. Kinda scarey, huh?

As for the temperature, it is a freak thing if it is really cold. It tends to be on the warmish side but starting to get cool in November. It's the beginning of the really nice weather in Florida.

It is too bad she's not driving. Definitely a car place, florida is. It always costs me much more than I think it should in Florida if I take a cab. But I'm in Tampa and don't know about Orlando cabs.

November is my favorite Florida month. Open-the-windows comfortable, and the best sunsets seem to be in November...have fun!

Thanks for the advice. We have discovered that she can book trips to Disney Parks in the hotel lobby and transportation is included.

Two weeks seems like an awfully long time to spend in Orlando - I would think you could see almost everything twice over.

Has she considered seeing anything else in FL while she's there?

I agree with NYTraveler -- it seems like a long time - especially without a car.

I would think the weather would be perfect.

I too agree with nytraveler, but I think you are also going around Thanksgiving, which is one of the ost crowded times at the theme parks...so be prepared for long wait times.

HI--we have gone several times in early November and have had *perfect* weather (days 70s or better, evenings ~60)every time!! We went only once in late November and had half and half--no rain, but a couple of *very chilly* evenings, also much cooler days than we had ever experienced in early November. Of course, this may or may not have been typical for that time of the year.

Went to ft. laud area 1st week nov 2000. The weather was amazing, low 80s all week with slight peak of mid-80s for 2 days with a low of say 64 at night with a cool breeze off the ocean. I remember seeing that Orlando was around 77 degrees. November in FL is the best, it has the least amt of rain in that month and the weather is perfect.

Ditto to Stephanie--that is why we picked early November (month of lowest reain) for our first and many of our subsequent trips. Hurricane season (nominally) ends Nov 1 and the weather is still warm. We almost always had temps in the low 80s and the locals would say it was "unseasonable" but when we had them repeatedly, one had to wonder.....

I grew up in Florida and can tell you that November is one of the very best months weather-wise. Two weeks in Orlando would kill me though!

November is a perfect time to visit Orlando both weatherwise and, I find, crowd wise as well. Ditto to our fellow posters concerned about navigating Orlando without a car - rethink that. Rentals in Orlando can be very inexpensive, even if you secured a rental for one week and took advantages of free shuttles, etc for the remainder of the time.
