Orlando in March

Good morning all! :)

We will be in Orlando, Florida for 6 days in March. Planning on seeing Harry Potter World, Disney World (just the main park) and thinking of NASA at Cape Carnaveral also.
Anything else we should add on or will that be enough? Anything else in or near Orlando we are missing?
Pretty excited!

Thanks in advance :)

Have a great time. If you are there during spring break, the parks will be crowded. Strongly recommend that you stay at one of the Universal resort hotels for at least one night so you can get in an hour early. With the new section of Harry Potter's world opening up, folks are returning to see the changes.

If you want a nice natural adventure, go canoeing at Wekiva Springs.

If swimming with manatees is of interest, March is a great time to do it. The drive is about 1.5 hours to Crystal River.

Lots of beaches to choose from if that's of interest.

Hey Starrs, thanks so much :) both of those ideas sound great!

We are staying at Double Tree Hilton (I think that's near Disney?)

Travelling from 9th March until 14th March, not sure when Spring Break dates are, we will just try to get everywhere earlier :)

Who/how many are you? And ages of any children?

Disney does not have a "main park" - there are 4 parks - and which is dest depends on ages and interests. If adults and/or teens I reco EPCOT, little kids will like Magic Kingdom the most.

Definitely sign up in advance - as in now - if you want meals or special activities (Princess meals etc).

There is also a Sea World in orlando.

IMO Disney's "main park" is The Magic Kingdom.
Right now, a 1 day ticket to the Magic Kingdom is $99.

A one day Park Hopper ticket is $120 and includes

"With the Park Hopper Option, you enjoy same-day access to all 4 of our theme parks–Magic Kingdom park, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom park and Disney's Hollywood Studios."

^^^Park Hopper

Multi-day options are available as well.

Magic Kingdom, me and my fiancé :)

Who needs little kids to have fun, I enjoy children's Disney as much as a 5 year old! Haha

$99 is very good! Is it better to buy a ticket online or just when we get there? :)

Boycotting Seaworld...

According to another thread, the prices go up in April.
They won't go down, that's for sure!

March can be very busy in Orlando, and admission to the Magic Kingdom is capacity controlled for non resort guests. I'd buy tix in advance and do some planning.

Plenty....

Wekiwa Springs State Park is a very good choice.

Blue Spring State Park

If the water outside the park is still cold enough, you can see manatees in their natural habitat, but call to make sure and go early in the morning. The parking lot is small and quickly fills up.

OrlandoVic, do you know of a forum for former military pilots to "talk" to one another?

Orlando_Vic Jan 19th, 2015 05:59 PM

Wow! What a great question. "Maybe" one of the sub-forums here: http://forums.military.com/eve

See what you think.

March 6, 2015 to March 15, 2015 is also Bike week in Daytona Beach but overflows into Orlando because Orlando Harley does a lot of events and concerts to woo away the people.

Orlando_Vic Jan 29th, 2015 02:52 AM

"Florida is the fishing capital of the world!"

My vote would have to go to Alaska for this.
