Orlando for adults

Going to Orlando 1st week in Nov.-no children. What is the best place to stay? What are some adult things to do?

Hi Sandy:
Is there a particular reason why you want to go to Orlando? I think there are so many other wonderful places to go especially if you are going without your kids.
The only "adult" thing I found in Orlando was Pleasure Island or Church Street Station. They were OK.
Whatever you decide, Have a wonderful time!

By all means, do the Cirque du Soleil production, La Nouba, in downtown Disney (not the park).

If you have a car, you might consider driving over to Kennedy Space Center for their tour (less than an hour from Orlando).

Winter Park, a few minutes northeast of Orlando is an interesting tour as well. The Morse Museum has a huge collection of Tiffany glass (also Tiffany art and pottery, which I hadn't been aware he'd done until the tour). Their downtown is very pretty, nicely restored with unique shops. Don't miss the barge tours of their lake and canal system.

Are you planning on doing the WDW parks? If so, you might enjoy staying "on property". If not, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, outside of the parks, is a fantastic property. I'm biased, admittedly, my husband works for Hyatt in a different city, but this hotel is wonderful. I used an entire roll of film just on their landscaping! They've got a huge beautiful pool that meanders around and includes a grotto bar and a slide built through rock. The pool can be crossed by suspended wooden bridge. There's a small lake with Sunfish, paddle boats or canoes. They have bikes to use on their hike/bike trails. Also have tennis and golf and horseback riding.

Plenty of adults enjoy the Disney, MGM and Universal experience...are you planning on doing the parks as well?

Downtown Disney offers some unique shopping. Pleasure Island is not bad (If you like to Dance and Drink) also there is a comedy club there that was pretty funny.

Universal City Walk is similar to Pleasure Island, but in my opinion more to see and do...still revolves mainly around drinking and dancing.

By far I agree with CMcDaniel...if you have never seen a Cirque du Soleil show...don't miss this one...La Nouba is TERRIFIC. Kennedy Space Center is great...Take the behind the scenes tour, but prepare to spend at least 1/2 a day there to do it all justice.

Believe it or not, you can actually find some fun things to do in Orlando even as an adult trip.

Try a restaurant called Fish Bones. Not terribly expensive..and the largest Filet and Lobster tail I have ever seen in my life.

Orlando is not only for Kids. I have been there atleast 3 times with Adult groups.

Now, if you don't like children, don't go to Orlando because they are everywhere! If you are interested in all that Disney has to offer, definitely stay ON Disney property. I would highly recommend both the Grand Floridian and Yacht and Beach Club hotels, and the Boardwalk. They are very pretty classy hotels that are not overly Disneyified - although the Boardwalk is a very busy hotel.

I would definitely recommend a trip into Church Street Station for some cute shopping and a great nightlife, there are a multitude of clubs to choose from. There is one that has a wall full of different types of Frozen Margaritas..a blast.

Pleasure Island is worth a trip too, but not worth the 20 something dollar cover charge if you ask me. But again, definitely worth seeing atleast once and deciding for yourself.

Make sure your leave a day or two for Epcot Center, I found it to be the most interesting and adult oriented park.

Enjoy yourself!
