Orlando Florida
Hello
I will be in Orlando for a conference i n Swan and Dolphin hotel for the Presidents week. I have 2 questions: 1. Beside the regular Disney attractions, what are other places to go for Adults only- I am interested mostly in nature (but it could be other attractions) and I do not mind to drive out of Orlando ? 2. what is the cheapest way to buy tickets for Disney attractions. AAA offered me a 3 day pass for $304 if I buy it in NY Thanks for all of your responses |
> I am interested mostly in nature
Ocala National Forest is just an hour up the road, but is several light years away from the amusement parks. http://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/ocal...32295&actid=50 I spent three hours on the Saint Francis Trail and saw not one other person. I didn't have that much solitude the next day at Epcot, but I enjoyed both visits. |
Airboat Rides on Lake Kissimmee just minutes from Orlando and Disney offering a REAL airboat ride in the swamps of florida. See gators, and endangered wildlife was fun for me.
www.kissimmeeswamptours.com visitorlando.com tonnes of options wdwinfo.com for the few discounts there are at disney paid $175 for 1 day for 2 at Epcot. In the 70s when I started going there admission wat $5 and rides werrelike $1. Now that is inflation. |
There are several beautiful state parks in the Central Florida area if you like nature. About an hour north of Orlando (east on I-4) is Blue Springs State Park. Manatees migrate to the park in the winter months.

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is beautiful and you can see many birds plus manatees. It is just a bit east, surrounding the Kennedy Space Center.
