orlando fl. hotels
I made reservations at residence inn at Canad dr. ,but it seems too good to be true! Can someone please advice about where to stay?
What's too good to be true about it? It's right off International Drive, a popular tourist spot. What area are you looking for?
Well,It has a good deal but I am worried about the quality
check trip advisor. It seems to get mixed reviews.
Every place has mixed reviews so what to think
The area is fine, just off the nicer section of I-drive.

Residence Inn is a Marriott property. The management of the hotel will be reliable. The International Drive area gets busy during high season and large conventions. The hotel can be crowded with groups depending on what's going on in the area. (Cheerleaders, bikers, race fans, conventioneers, spring breakers) That risk is the same at any Orlando property. If you got a great deal, the hotel is trying to get business and not already full. I think you are just fine.

I used to work at The Peabody on International Drive. Recently, DH and I went to dinner at a restaurant in the area of the Residence Inn, and were shocked by how deserted the restaurant was. The servers said the area has been struggling for visitors during this economic downturn. I think the price break you are seeing is just that they need to get people in, as stumpworks73 said.

Yes, sludick that's true. As you know, I-drive businesses rely on convention business, and that's taken a hit during this recession. I agree - that's the reason for the pricing.

Thanks for the replies.I was trying to compare between Marriot-residence Inn and Hilton gardrn inn and may be Homewood suites. Thanks
I do not want to get stuck in musty smelly place because I might be spending morning there,my husband has a meeting about seven miles away and we have a option to stay there also.I chose I drive so I can go shopping and stuff.
Look for a place that is farther south on I-Drive, closer to the Convention Center. That may work better for you.
Thanks.

What about Embassy suites?
Sounds good to me. There are a couple -- one used to be Orlando Suites, or something like that. We stayed there at their original soft opening and loved it. Either one should give you that wonderful "atrium lobby."

We stayed at Floridays a couple of years ago, it was nice and we loved the location. You can get some great rates on several of the travel sites. I noticed a 2 bed/2bath condo plus rental car for 3 nights for under $500. In addition to all the travel websites, research Fodors and Tripadvisor for reviews. During this down economy, you can stay at some great properties at reduced rates.

Is there any good restaurants around it?
