Lauderdale by the Sea has NOT changed all that much which is one of the reasons people enjoy it as much as they do.

Be aware that Orlando is in CENTRAL Florida and the further south you come for the beaches, either on the west coast such as Sanibel/Captiva (if you want beach, beach, BEACH) or the east coast or even the Keys, the better you will be temperature-wise at that time of year.

Mom:

Small world..I have stayed at the High Noon/Sea Foam (next door-same owners) for years and years! It's a great find.

Go to my secret spot in New Symrna... when you get to A1A, drive south until it dead ends at Canaveral Seashore park, pay $5 and have a mile of beach all to yourself.

Weekender - wish we could stay there! So far still the Singer Island Marriott - I keep checking to see if anything pops up with one of our weeks of timeshare so we could switch to another location.

So far we fly in on 12-30 and are in Orlando till 1-2 and then will drive to S. Florida. :-) Looking forward to it -

half Duplex I will :-)

Singer Island is fine. My family had a condo for many years just north of there on Jupiter Island.

I am going to be at the Marriott Harbor Beach in Ft. Lauderdale next weekend and again early in December.

I have stayed at that Marriott in Ft. Lauderdale ... been a long time!

Enjoy :-)

We talked about it this morning and moved our reservation to that Marriott...(Harbor Beach) we have some family that we want to see in Ft. Lauderdale area and my husband said he would prefer to be in Lauderdale. :-)

Request a south facing high floor room. Perfect for watching the cruiseships go in and out of Port Everglades.

Momddtravel2 Nov 25th, 2013 05:09 AM

Well, as it is turns out I was able to exchange my timeshare for the Palm Beach location (singer Island) so we are indeed going to stay at that Marriott - SOOO looking forward to it!!

There was a parade of cruiseships departing Port Everglades starting around 4 PM on Saturday. Fun to watch from the balcony or on the beach.

Liza, have they cleared up that rat infestation at Bahama Bay yet? And have they refilled the pool after it cracked from the sinkhole?

Meanwhile, what part of "no advertising" here do you not understand?

Oh and by the way, if you had read the actual post that you responded to, you would have noted that the poster is not even looking for a place to stay near Orlando.
