Organized Star Gazing

Folks,

My wife, daughter and I will be travelling through Colorado (Durango Area), New Mexico (Santa Fe Area), Utah (all Over), Montana/Wyoming (yellowstone area). We are interested in finding some opportunities to join a night time Star Gazing event. We all have no clue what we are looking at when we look up and thought this would be a great introduction.

Any ideas would be great thanks.

Mike

When I was at Bryce Canyon in Utah (don't miss by the way) they had ranger programs in the ampitheater there and there was a star gazing program. I don't know if they still do it - its been over 12 years. Go to the national park website and go to Bryce, there should be info about it on the web.

One option - and this may be more serious than you want -- is to stay at a B&B that caters to amateur astronomers.
Check www.starhillinn.com
I've never stayed but always wanted to!
They say they are an hour east of Santa Fe.

Folks,

I just spoke to a delightful gentleman who has a web site ...

He organizes trips from Santa Fe 3 evenings a week. Hoping to get something arranged since this will be at the beginning of our trip.
