Oregon Wine Country

We are traveling to the wine country and like to stay in little towns...what are your favorites? McMinnville, Dundee or Newton?

Newton? That would be Newberg.

All of Dundee's commercial businesses and services are in a several block stretch on either side of 99W, so I don't consider it to have a real downtown. Newberg's is much larger, and has more of a defined downtown area, but I don't think it has much character. McMinnville is larger still, and has a very nice walkable downtown, but accommodations within the downtown area are somewhat limited. Still, of the three, it would be my choice.

That said, I'd rather stay in Carlton.

Thanks for the shout-out, FaceInTheCrowd!

I totally agree with FaceInTheCrowd's descriptions. I think your choice of town depends on what you want to do. Can you elaborate a bit?

We liked our rental in Dundee, but there was almost nothing to walk to--it was convenient for driving around to lots of AVA's.
