Thanks Tom. We are hikers so not too worried about this trail.

I spoke with a friend who told me it is about 2 hours to Crater Lake from Bend so I think we will keep our original schedule and spend at least a night at Crater Lake. Hate to spend 8+ hours driving there twice!

I really like staying at the lodge on Crater Lake. Do take the boat and hike Wizard Island.
