Oregon Romantic getaway
 

I want to surprise my husband with a romantic getaway this winter, and I've heard that there are some wonderful bed and breakfasts along the oregon coast. I'd like to go someplace where there will be snow, so if that cancels out the coast then that's fine, we can hit the coast in the summer. I'm looking to spend no more than $200/night. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Unless your very very lucky you wont find snow on the coast.
A great B&B is the "Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast" in Bandon.(on the coast) Great views of the Ocean and as the name implies the lighthouse. The winter on the coast is very impressive. Storm watching is a great thing to do here and you wont get it in summertime.
If you want snow...look inland. Possible places to look would be Hood River No experience with this one but it looks nice and the suite with views of Mt.Hood are $125 per night.http://www.sakuraridge.com

Very, very unusual to have snow at the coast so you'll have to come back - though I recommend fall or spring as summer can be windy, foggy and cold.

I would recommend Sisters or Bend in Central Oregon. There are some lovely B&Bs in that area. No personal experience but I love to check out websites. Plus there is lots to do in that area.

As panhandle mentioned Hood River may also be a good place or anyplace around Mt. Hood.

Except for ski areas, there are no places in Oregon where snow is guaranteed. But, as has been written, you'll have a much better chance of snow in central Oregon, east of the Cascades.

Check out the Metolius River Resort website. It's not a B&B, but I'd rate it high on the romantic scale. It's in Camp Sherman, near Sisters.

Or maybe Black Butte Ranch just down the road from Camp Sherman. Again, not a B&B, but they've lovely condos with spectacular mountain views.

In Southern Oregon there is Mt. Ashland. The Ashland Springs Hotel, www.ashlandspringshotel.com is very romantic and elegant.

Around the Columbia Gorge is the Columbia Gorge Hotel. www.columbiagorgehotel.com They may be offering winter specials on their rooms. Have a great time! ***kim***

Sunriver Resort just outside of Bend. There will most definitely be snow there!

My husband and I stayed there for a long Thanksgiving weekend years ago. Great restaurant and activities. Fun things to do in Bend, skiing at Mt. Bachelor, shopping, etc.
