Oregon Road Trip- Places to See

Hi All,

I am leaving on a road trip to Oregon from Vancouver next week and have a few questions:
I was wondering which sand dunes company was the best for doing the buggies?
Can you camp directly on the beach near any of the sand dunes if you have an off road vehicle?
Any cool hikes near Bend?

Thanks!

I always use Sandland Adventures just south of Florence. Camping near the dunes would be Honeyman State Park- however I think it gets filled quickly so better check.

The beach is not for overnight camping. Also, please follow the rules as to what to avoid on the beach. There are birds called Snowy Plovers that are endangered so their nesting areas are protected. Do a little reading and watch for signs.

Honeyman is a great state park if you can get a spot. Less known and smaller Umpqua Lighthouse State Park also has tent and RV sites. Additionally, there are also some Douglas County campgrounds and private ones in the area. Do a search on Google Maps and you will find them.

You also asked about hikes in Bend. There are many! It would be helpful to know about how long you want to hike, level of difficulty, and other preferences--scenic vistas, don't mind climbing, prefer shade or along a river. To start off, Newberry Crater is generally on most people's lists.
