Oregon Coast whale watching

We're going to the Oregon Coast the week of July 4th. We are thinking of doing a whale wathching tour. What are the chances of seeing a whale on these tours? I know there's some tours in Depoe Bay. Are there any other places that might give us a better chance of seeing a whale? Thanks.

I think Depoe Bay gives you the best chance of seeing whales- there are some resident whales who stay there all year -
good luck ! Its fun

The reason you find tours from Depoe Bay is because the year-round resident pod is most often sighted near there. Seasonal migration is done by July 4. You might get lucky and see some that decided not to go to Alaska, but your chances would definitely be better at other times of the year.

Hi,

I can't seem to find the migration dates. When do those happen?

Thanks for the help.

The southbound migration is December - January and the northbound one from March into June.
