Oregon Coast Vacation Rental

Hi all,

Wondering if someone might be able to suggest a place (location in the state) and possibly even property (if you've experience or an opinion) for a couple of weeks in September. Looking for a place for two people on the coast, right on or near the beach. I'm indifferent to whether we're in a town or not, we can always hop in car.

Bandon? Lincoln City (seem to be a lot of rentals here), Cannon Beach?

Thanks,
Ryan

Also worth noting, we're looking for a house or cabin all to ourselves....

Thanks,
R

I am too new to Oregon to have experience in renting out of town, but I like this site and would use them .. perhaps at the end of summer also :)

I really like Cannon Beach.

Cannon Beach is awesome--we haven't rented there in a long time so I can't remember specific houses or companies. We also like Pacific City area (closer to Lincoln City)...we are also looking for places to rent--here are a few links to that area I've found recently in my hunt(Pacific City, Neskowin, etc.). Sorry if I screw up the weblinks--hopefully the come out looking okay.

Good luck! The Oregon coast is beautiful.

We rented a house in Cannon Beach three years ago. We right on the beach.

I will try and hunt it up for you. It seems like the property management place was located in Seaside. I would check out VRBO, too.

Cannon Beach is beautiful. The beach is so nice and the town has lots of shops and art galleries. You're also close to Indian Beach and Ecola State Park.

A little edit: "We WERE right on the beach."

We have used www.patordwayvacationrentals.com. and been pleased. They have homes in the Gearhart/Seaside/Cannon Beach area.

I be PWD :)

I forgot another. The Surfsand Resort in Cannon Beach is a nice hotel, but they also have a couple vacation homes for rent. One is to be completed by September, if I remember correctly. Their website is www.surfsand.com, so call or email them as I don't believe the homes are on the website.

kureiff--I hit KnitPurl today. It was nice! DD picked out some fun stuff for a hat.

Scarlett Jun 26th, 2006 03:21 PM

pant pant, it is 103 in Portland, someone get me to a beach!
Surfsand would be my choice if I were to stay in a hotel..right on the beach with a jacuzzi and terrace.
like mms :D

Fodorite018 Jun 26th, 2006 03:31 PM

Yes, I wish I were there right now too! Next week I will be:) Our house hit 106.5 today...WAY too hot!!!

Scarlett Jun 26th, 2006 03:42 PM

mms, but is it a dry heat? :D

The Yankee says what difference does it make, 103 and 106, it is the same thing...he just walked Pup, he is cranky LOL

sunbum1944 Jun 26th, 2006 03:53 PM

but just think in a few months it will start raining again - I'll take all the sunshine I can get - even if it does come with 100 degree weather.

Fodorite018 Jun 26th, 2006 03:54 PM

LOL! Not as dry as at Sunriver:D

Yes...it is all the same after about 90 degrees.

Fodorite018 Jun 26th, 2006 03:55 PM

sunbum--I was born/raised in the valley...the rain is in my blood, lol! I MUCH prefer the rain, and actually miss it from Seattle a lot. Not normal, I know:)

sunbum1944 Jun 26th, 2006 04:03 PM

MMS- I moved here from Kansas City - where 100 degrees is common. When I first moved here I vowed I wouldnt complain about the heat until it went over 100- but I must confess after 15 years here, I am a LITTLE less tolerant of it- I still try not to let it stop me much.

Fodorite018 Jun 26th, 2006 04:12 PM

You have a geat attitude! The heat stops me...but the rain and snow and cold doesn't at all. I am a heat wimp:D

kureiff Jun 27th, 2006 06:48 AM

LOL Scarlett. Someday I will edit my replies before posting.

mms: Knit Purl is nice, isn't it? My little knitted bag is coming right along. I'm hoping to finish it sometime soon.

And, wow, over a 100 in Portland? I'd be heading for the coast! Maybe you can catch a cool decoy exhibit while you're there.
