We are going to the Orange Bowl on Jan. 5! What are good areas near the stadium to stay? Restaurants? Thanks!

Don't stay near the stadium. Go to Coconut Grove or South Beach. Much more interesting and the drive is not far.

The closest place to stay near stadium that would be acceptable is Aventura. Miami Beach, Sunny Isles, Hollywood Beach, Ft Lauderdale are all within a 30 minutes drive.

Understand that some neighborhoods in Miami are seriously unsafe and that acceptable doesn't mean cream in your coffee instead of coffeemate, it means you can go out of the hotel with less chance of gun fire. Take care you get local advise on the right area.

Aventura is perfectly safe, just not a hot spot.
Aventura is a shopping mecca with a beautiful mall and tons of restaurants. Hardly an issue!!! Its very residential.
The Orange Bowl is held at Landshark Stadium - home of the Miami Dolphins. The website lists all the OB events . . .
