we are planning a family trip to Hawaii - Oahu - with our 5 children ages 10, 12, 21,23,25. The older ones will want to go clubbing. How expensive is the Oahu night life? Not fancy clubs - just beer joints. Any advice on local pubs that arn't trying to impress the tourists?

My daughter (young and single) lives in Honolulu, and says that "going out" isn't particularly expensive. The link above is a place that she and friends love. She took me there, and I liked it, too. It is near Waikiki, but not touristy. Let me know if you'd like more suggestions.

I don't have any specific place to recommend but I find Waikiki can be pretty inexpensive if you stick with the casual places like you mention (stay away from the hotel/tourist bars especially those right on the beach).

OK - my first recommendation is to re-post w/ a title that means something. $$$ or $$$$ will mostly just attract a few curious folk wondering what the heck you are asking about.

Try "Advice for 20 somethings nightlife on Oahu" or something like that . . . .

of course Janis is right. i was bored today, took a peak, and just happen to be heading to Honolulu next month.
