How do I obtain Oprah Tickets to Taping While in Chicago

Um, try oprah.com! All the info you need is there.

You must try to get through when the phone lines are open. It can take a while depending on the volume and how patient you are with redial. If you get through, they will give you your options for the dates available. If you are staying in a hotel, ask your concierge, sometimes they are able to help.

"The Oprah Winfrey Show generally tapes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 9:00am and at 12:00 noon CST. Audience reservations are available almost exclusively by phone. Demand far exceeds supply, so you may receive a lot of busy phone signals before getting through to one of our Audience Department members. Periodically, you may be able to request last minute reservations via e-mail. "

Also, check with the concierge at your hotel, if staying at a hotel. The concierge at Peninsula was able to get me last minute tickets to see Oprah. Unfortunately, I was unable to go because I had already booked a flight that would not get there on time for the morning taping.

If you were lucky enough to be in the audience today you got a free car. Everyone.

Very cool! I did read the audience was hand picked because they did NEED a car.

BTW apparently the audience was not randomly selected but chosen on the basis of a recommendation of a family member or friend who submitted their name to producers because the person needed a car.

:-? Hmmmmm...Mrs Kal and her sisters are planning a Fall run to Mall o' America...maybe I can have them go to Chicago and see The Oprah Show when Bill Gates, Richard Branson or Mark Cuban are on instead???

I don't know how badly all the audience members needed a car. There was a local woman featured on our news out here who received a car and is planning on selling the car and donating the money to charity.

Maybe the person's situation had changed since they were recommended for the show?

This was a well planned publicity stunt between Pontiac and the show. All the cars were donated by Pontiac and the audience was very carefully screened so that they met the right demographics and "looked good".

To sum it up, it was really phony!! Just about what you might expect.

Curious, I'm curious as to what made you so cynical. Do you have another name that you use for your less cynical posts? :-)

Just let me in on her annual Holiday Show. They received some really cool loot last year to the tune of $10,000 per audience member.

I read the article that Curious provides a link to. The hostility and jealousy in that article was toxic. Why so angry? Why so cynical? What's wrong with having fun at some advertisers expense? If you dislike Oprah, or anyone for that matter, you will find no good in anything they do and will be suspicious of every motive. I thought the show was a lot of fun and the benefit to many of those people was great. Who cares about product placement and advertising. If the companies want to pay to play then let the games begin. :)
