Only a few days in New Mexico

We are spending a week in Pagosa Springs CO, want to see a bit of New Mexico - only have 2-3 days and leaving from Albuquerque airport. We are most interested in the landscape and some museums. Notably, Georgia O'Keefe museum in Santa Fe. Is it worth our while to take a side trip to Taos? Is one day enough in Santa Fe? Thanks for the advice. Dawn and Peter

I would go from Pagosa to Taos, have a look see (1/2 day) and them head down to Santa Fe. Spend the day in Santa Fe ( check out Museum Hill along with O'Keefe which is very small and wont take long to do, then NM History Museum close by ,too) Next day, I would either take the Turquoise Trail down to ABQ and then check out Hispanic Cultural Center and the Indian Cultural center too. OR take I25 down, stopping at Tent Rocks on the way. This would allow you to be in ABQ for your flight with little stress.

In the east end of Albuquerque, you should see Sandia Reak.

Too bad you don't have more time for New Mexico.

If they drive down Turquoise Trail, they can easily drive up to the peak.

If you are an O'Keeffe fan, you might enjoy visiting her house in Abiquiu. Tour size is very limited but this far in advance you could probably do it:

We love the area too. It has some of the most beautiful landscape.

If it is still there do not miss the Stitching Resistance show at the Hispanic Cultural center in ABQ.

There is also a new Titanic exhibition that opened yesterday at the Natural History Museum; looks good.
