LOL, Neal will read this and post that Rumours of his Death have been Greatly Exaggerated!

As far as I know, Neal Sanders is alive and hopefully well.

I miss his posts. Always loved them, and would defend them when the ire rode high. And it did against him. I always note his reports as the ones I primarily miss the most.

I remember when he showed up last year, and I told him so.

emd: Perhaps I should have taken a leaf from Mark Twain's work. Yes, I think I was wrong -- Wes Fowler and Neal swapped places in my corroding mind.

USNR, understandable. Both of them have/had very poetic and unique writing styles. I knew right away who you really meant.

I was having a weak moment, nearly giving in to returning to Phoenix at the end of June...

I clung to your every word, Neal!! I have no desire to experience the "big one", lol.

We'll save Arizona for next Spring.

Ya know.. if it SW you are seeking, why not try my neck of the woods? It will be that dry heat, but no where near the day time temps in AZ and it cools off 40 degrees or more everynight - cool enough to wear a sweater or jacket and be able to have a fire. We have wonderful ancient ruins at Mesa Verde, fun shopping in Durango and Telluride, beautiful drives on Million Dollar Highway and authentic art for lots less than most tourists places. Great reastaurants, fun outdoor things that you can do at time other than 5 am to beat the heat.

Think about it - I'll help you plan it and we can have a SW Colorado mini GTG! Southwest is having good deal to ABQ. Check it out!!

A few years ago when my son was a chef in Tuscon he said he would go into the kitchen to cool down. It was that hot outside.
