One site in Tetons not to miss?

Many of you suggested, to a prior post, that we spend some time during our 8 day trip to Yellowstone at GTNP, so we are. But, at this point, I was only able to get one night at Signal Mountain Lodge. If we only have the one day, which one site do you recommend we see during our short time there? And, if I can get 2 days?

You can cover more than one site in a day. Suggestions:
*Take the boat ride across Jenny Lake and climb to Inspiration Point.
*Drive down Antelope Flats Road to view the bison close up and to see the Moulton Barn. (Both are great photo ops.)
*View the sunset from Signal Mountain Lodge.
*Have lunch or dinner outdoors at Dornan's.
Those will give you a good start!

My nephew worked at Signal Mountain Lodge for a few years in the summers, not too long ago, It's a beautiful spot. Jenny Lake and Jenny Lake lodge for a meal would be great!

I second the motion for the boat across Jenny Lake and a hike up to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.

Another option is to get National Geographic's "Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks Road Guide" $8.95 at Barnes & Nobles, and take 4-5 hours and do the "loop" and stop at every "pull out".

After spending the day seeing the sights (for me, Yellowstone is for seeing the animals and Grand Teton is for beautiful visitas), you might want to consider a relaxing and very enjoyable evening taking in a Chuckwagon Dinner and Show at either Bar "J" Chuckwagon Supper & Western Show, http://www.barjchuckwagon.com or at Bar T 5 Chuckwagon advencures, http://www.jacksonhole.net/activities/chuckwagon.htm.

The Road Guide is an excellent guide for both parks.Have a great trip.

Sunset at Signal Mountain is pretty spectacular.
Mormon Row at sunrise is also fabulous.

Get to Jenny Lake early in the day for the boat ride/hike. We got there around 11 and it was packed. Another option (also best for early morning) is to take the float trip down the Snake River. We enjoyed swimming in one of the lakes (very cold - name escapes me but it's in the guidebooks) and fishing in the river near the dam. We bought foldup fishing kits at a Walmart before entering the park. Nothing was a keeper but I think we got a fish everytime we wet the line. Be sure to get a license...

The Jenny Lake/Inspiration Point trip is high on the list.

My family found the float trip not too exciting--fine, but could have lived without it. Saw one bald eagle sitting in a tree but enjoyed seeing one fly over the GT road for free instead!

We LOVED the chuckwagon dinner and entertainment at Bar T 5. Totally corny but hysterically funny. Still one of the best memories we have of all our travels in the past 10 years.
