One night stay south of Danver, Ma?

We have a wedding to go to in Danver, MA. We will be traveling from NY. We are going to stay 1 night near Danver and then wanted to stay an additional night some place on our way home between Danver and NY. Aside from Salem, does anyone have any suggestions? We are traveling with a toddler and we really do not want to go too far out of the way. Thanks!

What are you looking for in your overnight stays: simply someplace to sleep so that the drive isn't so long, or a location where there's other things to do? And do you have your first night hotel booked or are you looking for suggestions for both?

For a place to stay not far from Danvers, you could consider Burlington or Woburn. (FYI, the name of the town has an "s" on the end.)

For the latter not too far from the wedding, you could look into staying in historic Lexington. Marblehead is very scenic, though I don't know how much lodging they have there.

If you're willing to drive a bit farther, Mystic, CT would be a good coastal option. Or head to the Berkshire Mountains in western MA...

Are you traveling to/from NYC or someplace else in New York State?

I fyou are looking for a place where you can do something nice on the way home, I agree that Mystic would be good. Even a toddler would like to see the Aquarium!

It is really unclear what your intent is. If you are travelling home towards NYC area, I agree that Mystic CT would be a great choice.

(your toddler is invited to the wedding I hope, or the bride and groom are providing childcare if it is an adult event)

Thanks we will look into those suggestions. We had found a hotel in peabody to stay in for the one night (20 minutes away from the wedding), however we can still change it. We were hoping to find a place with things to do, without adding too much time to the car ride as it will be our first overnight/long car ride trip with a baby. We are coming from NYC. We are also traveling with some family members that are pretty flexible.

Another option would be to take the other route and stop in Sturbridge Ma
