one night stay in newport

Does anyone know if it's possible to find a room in Middletown or Newport for a only a Saturday night in mid July? Would like to stop for 1 night on the way to Cape Cod. Thanks! Can be a B&B, Inn, Motel or Hotel.

I'd say that most places currently are trying to get the 2-night minimums....but as the dates get closer, it is possible to find 1 night places.....

You might want to try www.newportreservations.com it's a free service, and they would be able to help you with the B&B's, as well as other area hotels that might allow just 1 saturday night.

Hyatt Regency Newport, Goat Island.

I tried once with no luck. As you get closer you can always call places and see if they happend to have a odd booking that leaves Saturday open, but I doubt anyone would book it now.
By the way, The Hyatt Regency runs about $300 per night in July

Yikes! $300! We usually go off-season and pay less than half of that. My apologies for the suggestion.

Priceline uses the Hyatt and Marriott in Newport, so if there are open rooms, you have a very good chance of getting one for a lot less than $300.

Also try extraholidays.com. They hae several timeshare properties in Newport that go for a song if unnoccupied (2 bedrooms, $150).

How about Jamestown, right over the bridge? Bay Voyage Inn?

There are also a number of B&Bs in Newport.
