One night in Rockport in October
Dear all,
My fiance and I will be visiting Boston in October and are looking to spend one night in Rockport (midweek, 1st week on October). Can anybody recommend a B&B or Inn? I have looked on trip advisor and they all sound fantastic so hoping for some insider info. We are looking to spend $150(ish) for the night and would like a good breakfast and be able to walk to the attractions/restaurants as we will be coming by train. A sea view would be a bonus. Many thanks |
Be warned, Rockport is a dry town. Atlantic Ave in Gloucester has some nice ocean front places...google away. Good luck

This was my post 4/2004 and I would still make these recommendations: "You will be going to my favorite respite. Despite the grand location (directly on the water) of the Yankee Clipper, I have twice been disappointed, by poor service and accomodations that are past their prime.
This is also more of an Inn then a B&B so - here is what I offer : TheAddison Choate Inn (www.addisonchoateinn.com), We have loved the Emerson Inn (www.emersonbythesea.com) Not fancy, but charming with amazing hospitality is : The Tuck Inn (www.tuckinn.com) additionally, The Inn on Cove, gets outstanding reviews. Need ideas for restaurants? I always check the New England Section at www.egullet.com for updates and I have never been disappointed." |
Hi
I lived in Rockport for 12 years -- I always recommended the Peg Leg Inn - not to be confused with the Peg Leg Motel (which could be nice). It's in town, nice spot overlooking front beach and the ocean. If they don't serve breakfast -- go to Flav's - it's excellent; also get the Norweigan bread from the Coffee Shop. Have dinner in Gloucester; they serve alcohol. Cheers. |
I second the Emerson Inn. I was there with a group in August and it was great.

I like the Red inn if still in operation across from the state park that is fantastic to picnic on the rocks over-looking the ocean. You can bring your own wine to the rstaurants. We always did at "My Place."
