One night in Las Vegas

Hello, I am planning a trip to Southern Utah, Grand Canyon and I have one night to spend in Las Vegas. I was wondering about what to see, where to stay, where to eat. I am fine with almost any price range because it is only one night so I could live in luxury for a little more money for the night. I want something on the Strip but Kayak and Expedia have dozens of hotels and I do not know where to start with these. Any help would be great.

I like the Venetian - there are probably better and worse hotels but I think for me the proximity to Bouchon for breakfast trumps other considerations.

I recommend something midstrip...Venetian; Cesaer's Palace; Mirage; Harrah's; Treasure Island…etc

If you're into clubs, lounges and dancing stay at the Cosmopolitan. Very hip & chic. Wicked Spoon is one of the top buffets, D.O.C.G. is one of my favorite restaurants for casual delicious dining and there are many upscale options such as Comme Ca great french cuisine with an outstanding view. Bellagio is another fabulous choice for many in-house things to see and do. The Bellagio Fountains are a must, the ceiling in the lobby has work done by world reknown Dale Chiluli, there's also an art exhibit. I think they're show Monet now. Have dinner at any of their many 4 star restaurants, the Lamb at Circo is the best I've ever had and stop by Jean Phillipes for desserts that are worth every calorie. Great shopping at upscale shops like Tiffany's, Dolce & Gabana, BeBe, etc. If your big into sports stay at the Palazzo. They have Lagasse Stadium. By far the best Sports Book and best place to watch any game. It's pricey but coo as hell. Dine at B&B or Carnevino. Since you have only one day here I made these recommendations based on lots of stuff to do on property so you don't waste time. I also recommend LasVegasbyLocals.com as a great source. I write for them and live and play her in Vegas.

TheHotel isn't mid-strip, but does have many great restaurants in Manadalay Bay, adjacent.

Wynn/Encore, and The Venetian and Palazzo get high marks also. Cosmo is good for bars and eating, but close S. Cal. pals told me it is really more about 20-somethings, and pretty loud overall.
Do have a raspberry lemon drop martini, if you visit the Chandelier Bar while there.. they also do a promotion,(find the player's club desk prior) if you lose $100, they will load your new players club card with another $100.

Mon Ami Gabi is another great stop for a breakfast and people watching. It's in The Paris. The thin lemon pancakes, with a dish of fresh whipped cream, are to die for! :)

Hello everyone, guess what my parents decided that they are coming along with me. They decided that why plan their own trip when they can piggyback along with me and not have to do any planning. They stayed in Mandalay Bay once and really feel that it is great. I really won't go to clubs or bars especially after 10 days of travelling, I probably won't have the energy. Will definitely go to Paris and get those crepes thanks for everything and keep the help coming!!

The Mandalay Bay is great. There are so many great restaurants!

Mix is great. The restaurant has great ambiance, food, and service. They have great food; everything from delicious mac and cheese to fois grais.

Burger Bar is also a favorite of mine. They offer a great burger, as well as great choices (the meat and toppings) to make your burger unique.

Hi, you might wanna check-out Palazzo Resort Hotel and Casino. It’s a good place to stay especially if you are a party-goer since it houses one of the best nightclubs in town – LAVO. They also have a poolside Jacuzzi and the Canyon Ranch Spa if you wanna relax a bit before your next day trip. Have fun!

I recommend you stay center strip - and try to get a room - overlooking the magnificent Bellagio Fountains. (If not at Bellagio - Paris perhaps - or maybe at the Cozmo)

Am betting they will mesmerize you as they did moi the first time, and continue to still do so. Never have I ever waited in the car - in a line to check in - and liked it so much. Had the top down and there were also playing Andreas Bocelli music:

You might also plan on going to a show - such as Cirque's O - (at the Bellagio)- or La Reve at the Wynn. As Mike says - so many things to do - and also suggest that you need to plan ahead if you are only going to be there for one night.

Personally - I would add another night or two. :)

Also check the Tix4less booths/webpages for good deals, dicount tix, et. http://www.tix4tonight.com/ There is also another one along the Strip but I forget the name at the moment.
