One night in Burlington, VT
My mom and I will be in Burlington, VT for one night (Sun., Sept. 9th). Any ideas where we should stay? Nothing too expensive. Perhaps close to Church Street? Also, any fun things we should see? We have to leave relatively early the next day to drive back to Manchester to catch our flights home. Thank you!

There is a Wyndham and a Courtyard right down town, with lots of shopping and places to eat within easy walking distance.
The Wyndham has lake views and appears frequently on Priceline, but I don't know about the beginning of September because you are close to the beginning of the school year.

I don't know from what direction you are comign into Burlington, but the right on 7 is a beautiful ride, with many nice stops from Middlebury to the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, to some small art galleries and stores, museums, and ending up in VT
- the Shelburne Museum mentioned is one of our favorites, as is a restaurant called starry night cafe - the latter of which we have not been to for a few years, but it was consistently good for many years.
midvermont.com has a lot of info on one of our favorite 'sections' of VT if you are coming thru any of those towns, it's a good site to look at.
If you type "burlington, vt" into the search this forum bar above, you will see lots of great threads come up on the left, with ideas of what to see, do, where to eat in Burlington also.

We spent last Saturday night in Burlingon as we ended our trip to Montreal (flying into/out of Burlington). We had a great time. Its a nice city with a great pedestrian area filled with shops and restaurants. The waterfront area is nice as well.
On Church Street you will find Champlain Chocolates, and their chocolates are just delicious.
