One night for dinner in Seattle
Gathering the clan this summer for a family wedding in Whistler; we are meeting in Seattle, some of us coming the night before our drive to Whistler. While we are staying, for convenience of corraling everyone and price, near the airport, a few of us will have an afternoon and evening to drive into Seattle - plan to visit Pike's Market, take a walk around and have dinner. I have checked the files for recommendations, saw one for Steelhead Diner, but thought I would ask if anyone had a more current recommendation. Seafood a must, I would think.

Matts in the market is excellent

Another one near the Market: Etta's. http://tomdouglas.com/index.php?page=ettas

Been to Matts and liked it. Thought Steelhead Diner was excellent on my one visit. Also DW really likes the Kell's Irish Pub near the Market.

Matts in the Market or Etta's Seafood are both good. I haven't been to Steelhead Diner in awhile but it's a fun place.
Honestly my two go-to restaurants for seafood with out-of-visitors are either Cutter's or Anthony's. Both overlook the waterfront, so fantastic views, very sparkly at night, with extensive menus. Seafood but also plenty of other choices. They aren't as "foodie" or "trendy" as the other places, but everyone always likes them a lot. None of the three in the first paragraph have views. |
Thank you all very much, lots to choose from I see.

Suze et al, thanks for all the suggestions. We decided to go to Cutter's being big on views, and since we stopped by and made a reservation before exploring the market and waterfront, we were able to get a window table. The fish dishes were delicious, great service and I highly recommend it for a special evening.

Thanks for checking back in! Glad Cutter's worked out for you.

What about Elliots for a special occassion?
