one day in seattle
We are in Seattle and have seen the Locks, Pike Market, Space Needle, Museum of Flight, Boeing Museum, and will now be going to Vancouver and Victoria. We will be back on Thursday night and will have one more full day in Seattle. Any ideas of how to spend it? Thanks very much.

Do the Underground Tour in Pioneer Square; take a ferry over to Salty's and have a great lunch or dinner; try The Music Project Experience; Dimitrou's Jazz Alley for dinner with wonderful live music; Teatro ZinZanni for a fun dinner and show -- http://dreams.zinzanni.org/
Hope this helps... Debi |
Pioneer Square historic district
Chinatown/international district take a quick ferry ride, leaving & returning gets you an amazing view of the Seattle skyline If you have a car do a tour of Lake Washington area (thru the Arboretum, visit the Japanese Gardens, Madison park, Madrona, Leshi, etc.) |
oh, and if the weather is nice... the Waterfront, take a stroll along and have dinner somewhere.

If time permits, how about a trip out to Blake Island for the salmon dinner and Indian dancers?

Just north of the Space Needle is a lovely little park with 'the' view of the skyline. This is where most travel brochure pictures of Seattle are taken. I believe it is called 'Kelly Park,' though it might be 'Kerry Park,' and I think it is in what is called 'the Queen Anne' section. Will some local help me out here?
|
Oh, yes, the views you speak of are taken from Highland Drive on Queen Anne. Head north up Queen Anne Ave, take a left onto Highland, and the park is a couple of blocks on the left. Can't miss it.
Unfortunately, I think the glorious weather we have been experiencing may make a turn for the worse in the next few days. |
We enjoyed the Seattle Art Museum and its great shop. Had lunch there and then toured.
Second the recommendation for Jazz Alley we had dinner and jazz there and it was great. We stayed in Pioneer Square so those suggestions for walking around there are also excellent. We absolutely love Victoria! Enjoy your time there. If you need suggestions for that part of your trip e-mail me. |
Unfortunately the downtown Seattle Art Museum is closed at this time for renovation.

But fortunately the Frye Art Museum (on First Hill) is showing a jaw-dropping exhibit entitled "Henry Darger:
Highlights from the American Folk Art Museum." Admission is free, and the exhibit is one you won't forget. Details at http://www.fryeart.org |
The weather is supposed to clear up by the weekend and Friday is supposed to be warm and sunny. No rain on July 4th, the Torchlight Parade or Bumbershoot weekend. I'm scared. :)

Thank you everyone. I was looking more for natural beauty trip in Seattle - how much time could I spend in Lake Washington? Are there any other suggestions? Forgot to say we already went on underground tour and to Pioneer Square. Also, would love info on Victoria restaurants - seafood - just good food - a place locals would go. Thanks once again.
