One Day in Fort Lauderdale

We have only one day as we are on a back to back cruise, but anyone advise on what we should do. We've been to the Everglades and Flamingo Park and would like to get around on our own, without using a ship's tour. What is within easy distance of the Port - we enjoy walking (particularly alongside of water) and don't mind using public transport - any suggestions?

There is a water taxi which plies the Intracoastal Waterway, with stops along Las Olas Bl. (shops, galleries, restaurants) and the historic Bonnet House. Very scenic.

I agree, the water taxi is an an inexpensive and scenic way to tour the area. Definitely make a stop at Los Olas Blvd, as well as the Riverwalk entertainment area. Plenty of great places to dine, sip on a cool drink, and watch the watercraft glide by. If you want to be indoors there's also the museum of science, as well as museum of art, both on Los Olas.

This sounds perfect - is the stop for the water taxi far from the cruise ship terminal and if so, what would be the best way of getting there?

Absolutely agree with Bonnet House and boat tour of Intercoastal.
