One Day in Flint, MI

I have to make travel arrangements for a group of musicians. If they had an afternoon in Flint, MI, what one activity should they NOT miss? Also, what about restaurants? Thanks!

What kind of musicians?

Well I am from Detroit, there is not much in Flint at all, however, there is an outlet mall in Birch Run about 20 minutes from Flint.

I would take them up to Frankenmuth, about 25 miles away.

I second Frankenmuth. Not much to see in Flint.

It really depends on the group. If they are rock musicians they might like the Redwood Lodge and Brew Pub: http://www.flintfood.com/rw.htm
On the other hand,if they are a Gospel group and they have transportation I would recommend driving down to Holly (about 20 miles), which is an interesting historic town with great antique shops and the Holly Hotel restaurant.

Fenton is about the same distance, also an adorable town with shops and beautifully maintained historic homes. I love making a special trip up to eat at the WONDERFUL deli called "The French Laundry" (no relation to the one in Yountville).

Frankenmuth is about 30 miles away and, frankly, is not one of my favorites.

The group consists of professional classical musicians. They are not, however, "stuffy" people. They range in age from 25 to 50 (more or less) and they will be traveling to Flint (as well as Detroit) in the latter part of April.
