Omni or Royal Sonesta?

Which is nicer - Omni or Royal Sonesta? We only have one night. Which restaurant? We do not eat the type of food that Commander's Palace serves.

what type of food do you eat?

I've stayed at the Royal Sonesta and loved it, but never at the Omni so I can't make a comparison.

I'm REALLY curious, though, about your statement that you don't eat the "type" of food that Commander's Palace serves. What type is that?

I'd stay at the Royal Sonesta because I think it has more of the New Orleans ambience. The Omni is nice, but it could be an Omni anywhere.

I'm curious about the food comment too.

Omni is very nice. So is the Sonesta.

As for food, you DO realize that your question is impossible vague, right?

We always stay at Royal Sonesta - I considered different options for our upcoming trip just to keep an open mind, but didn't see anything that looked better (though that would be hard because I do love the Royal Sonesta so much!).

As others have indicated, you'll need to provide a bit more info regarding your food preferences in order to get recommendations. I guess you just don't like high end/fancy food? I can't imagine what else you would mean as Commander's menu is pretty varied.

I stayed 2 nites the end of April at Omni Royal Orleans. I was very pleased and impressed with the property, great location as well.

The Omni Royal Orleans is very unique. I can't believe someone says it looks like any other Omni! It's definitely got a lot of New Orleans flavor.
