Omni CNN Center/Ritz Carlton - Downtown Atlanta

Has anyone had any recent experience with either of these hotels? Both of these hotels are very close to where I need to be (Phillips Arena), and I would usually book the Ritz without hesitation, but have read some negative reviews about it. Can anyone help me decide? Thank you!

Just moved from Atlanta and haven't stayed at either (worked in same building as Ritz). I seem to remember that the Omni is a lot closer to Phillips Arena than the Ritz.

Had lots of collegues stay at the Ritz - no major complaints, but no raves either. I'd choose the Omni for proximity as downtown isn't the most pleasant place to walk around.

I also have not stayed at either one, but the Omni is attached to Phillips Arena via the CNN Center. You don't even have to venture outside if you don't want to.

Brian_in_Charlotte and 1scs1, thank you both for your responses. I think I am leaning towards the Omni now for its location.

Has anyone stayed at either of these that could comment on the level of service, or rooms (particularly suites)?

Thanks!

We've stayed at the Omni twice and had good experiences both times. We did not stay in a suite so I can not comment on them - but the rooms were good.
