Omaha Zoo or Children's Museum in two weeks
My family (me, DH, DD age 5) is planning to stop in Omaha for the afternoon to break up the Thanksgiving car trip from Iowa to Boulder (overnight in Kearney).
We would like to visit either the Henry Doorly Zoo or the Omaha Children's Museum. (Obviously we'd skip the zoo if the weather was uncooperative.) So any advice on picking between the two? Any estimates of time needed for each?

It's a great zoo, and if you are spending time in a car getting outside in the fresh air will be a good idea.
Give it as much time as you want. You could spend the better part of a day depending on your interests.

The zoo is a standout. One of the best anywhere.
If the weather is poor, there are many indoor areas: largest indoor rainforest I have ever seen, fantastic desert and nocturnal dome, large aquarium, others.

We haven't taken the grandkids to the childrens museum since they remodel but the zoo is almost always a good choice. You can do the other on your return.
The Arch Museum over I80 just before Kearney is pretty good to.
