Can anyone recommend a moderate motel in a safe area? Has anyone stayed in the Best Western Metro Inn & Suites in Council Bluffs, near the river? (It's an AAA 3-diamond.) Is the area safe? Or would it be better to stay on the Omaha side?

Please help - it's just an overnight stop - we won't be able to do much site-seeing.

If memory serves, you want to stay on the Iowa side of the river, and not in Nebraska....someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Sandy,
Stayed there in May last year (1999) and it was great.Large room ,very convenient-very close to Omaha,just over the bridge, and safe and quiet.
I would happily return.

settle in either omaha or council bluffs both locations and area is fine and safe

Personlly, I would stay on the Omaha side (I live there). But, you really will be safe anywhere you stay in either city. Not big crime cities. Are you coming in on the Interstate, and looking for a place off I-80? I can make some suggestions if you are.....of reasonable priced hotels where we usually put family up at.
