Old Lahaina Luau - Maui

Has anyone been to the Old Lahaina Luau lately, and which night of the week is the best to attend? Thanks...

We attended during the first week of June last year. I recall that being a Monday night and the place was packed. I made relatlively last minute reservations (two months) and almost didn't get in. Our assessment was that the show was outstanding, food above average buffet quality, and the drinks watery. One warning, unless you are staying right in Lahaina, plan on the worst traffic you have ever seen getting to Lahaina. It took us one hour and forty five minutes to drive from Maalea to Lahaina.

I guess I didn't really answer your question. When I called to make reservations, the OLL reservationist told me that there were no "slow" nights and the show was the same every night.

We went on a Thursday and it was packed. I too was told that they sell out every night and none of them are slow nights. I'd had several recommendations from others that it was the best luau on Maui so I trusted what I had been told and we definitely enjoyed it. The other luaus I saw from a distance did look pretty lame and "makeshift" from a distance but I don't have first hand knowledge of the food & drinks of the others. We were happy with our experience at the Old Lahaina Luau.

Any reason why you chose this luau?

I did the feast of LeLe last year and it was awesome! Would do it again!

We loved Old Lahaina Luau. No matter when go, make sure to get there at least an hour early, even if you have reservations. The lines are very long.
You won't be dissappointed--the show is wonderful.

We also went to the Feast at LeLe and it was awesome. We would also go back again.

Drums of the Pacific at the Hyatt has the best fire knife dancer on Maui.

I would not go to Old Lahaina Luau because they don't have a fire knife dancer.

The OLL presents a traditional, Hawaiian luau. It has its origins in polynesian efforts to communicate with the gods. The gods did not listen when the fire knife dancers took the stage, so a traditional show (which we greatly enjoyed) does not have them.

Also doesn't have organ grinder monkeys, dancing bears or dogs dressed in tutus.

As you learned, OLL is wildly popular. The best seats are assigned to those who book earliest.

Thank you for your responses. I am wo ndering what is the FEAST AT LE LE? It sounds interesting.I have never heard of it.

The Feast at LeLe is fantastic. The dinner consists of several different courses and each course is from a different island ie. Samoa, Tahiti, New Zealand, etc. The boats with the dancers come off the water. It is just awesome. Take a look at the website feastoflele.com
