Although it's been several year, my kids and I enjoyed the Cowboy Museum more than I thought we would.

"If I should stay within Oklahoma, tell me why...."
Why are you going to OK?
Will Rogers is from Oklahoma.
There is a famous musical about the state.
Will Rogers never met a man he didn't like, but he never met my brother-in-law.

FWIW, I suffered from "museum overload" at the Cowboy Museum—and I enjoy museums.

Going to Oklahoma because we have never been. We have a goal of visiting every state.

We get asked all the time.....Why are you here? Why are you going to this place?

We like to see all kinds of places, towns, lanscapes, and communities.

Hope you have a good trip. I'd love to read a trip report when you're back.

A little info regarding beer law and changing laws from Mustang Brewing:

"Brewpubs aren’t going to be effected by the new laws. Their 3.2 limit has to do with distribution. If they want to brew and sell without having to go through a distributor, it has to be low point. The sampling bill that recently passed is for production breweries and will allow 12oz per person per day of free sampling at the production site. Sampling beer will be full strength, right off the fermenters."

Anyone done the Jim Thorpe house?

Has anyone driven the Wichita Mountains Scenic Byway? Is it worth the drive from OKC?

Ackislander Apr 30th, 2013 11:22 AM

I think you must be talking about the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge that I wrote about above. It was definitely worth it for the wildlife and western scenery.

jedivader Apr 30th, 2013 11:48 AM

Yes, the byway goes through the Refuge for part of it. This would be the part we would be near, the rest of the route is too far and would take too long. Most of it is on Highway 115.
