OK, Get Out There And Look UP!
August 12 is the full moon AND the beginning of the Perseid Meteor Shower.
So everyone get outside in the dark and look up ~
See if you can count the meteors, they say you can see up to 100 an hour.

Well, it was overcast here too and so much city light, even at 4 am I could see nothing
Last year we were in the Berkshires and while the sky was dark and full of stars, I kept worrying that standing there alone in the woods, a bear would eat me while I waited to see a meteor!
I think I need to live by a beach!

Scarlett-Thanks for the reminder!Mentally sending you clear skies! We saw the waxing moon Sat night
out on the Sonoma/Mendocino Coast at Pt.Arena-pitch black and clear-very unusual this time of year-therefore, I wish you clear skies tonight-if it can happen here, it is possible there!
Happy Gazing!
PS-A friend of mine at the observatory on Mt.St Helena (Napa County) got a call about a UFO 2 nights ago-turned out to be Mars!LOL
