Ohio to Houston

Our son lives in Houston so we have traveled this area often. I would love ideas on new places to visit. We've done Nashville, Memphis, Natchez Trace, Hot Springs, New Orleans...Any ideas for Thanksgiving travel? Thanks!

How about Birmingham and Montgomery AL. The Civil Rights monument in Montgomery is just wonderful.
And in Birmingham, you could eat at one of Frank Stitt's restaurants--especially Highlands Grill. A real dining experience.
