O'Hare - 2 hour layover with 7 year old
 

What's the best way to pass the time at the airport? We're flying on United.

2 hours isn;t much of a layover. By the time you disembarak (assuming you land on time) and find your way to the ongoing gate (and do you kow how close they are to each other) you may not have any time at all.

If you do, consider getting a snack (or will your flights hae a meal - few do) and get a little exercise between all the sitting on both flights.

Long enough to get bored, too short to do anything REALLY interesting. I haven't been able to find which gates the two legs use and I know United is in two terminals.

Has anyone been to the Kids on the Fly area in Terminal 2?

If you fly through Concourses B or C, you could go for a walk through the tunnel and see the light show. There's also a dinosaur on permanent display at the top of the escalator in Concourse B.

The smaller regional jets tend to fly from Concourses E and F in T2. You could head to the activity area or see the airplane that's part of the Butch O'Hare exhibit in the main terminal building.

When I was 7 (or 17 or 27), I would not get bored at the airport. I looked at the planes, tried to identify all the airlines and models. I looked at the departure board and learned where all those places are.
