I am amazed, I found this three Inns in Ogunquit: The Milestone, the Gorges Grant and<BR>Juniper Hill Inn... and the Price for a <BR>King Size Bedroom... is $74.00.. <BR>Have any of you stayed on any of these three<BR>Inns? Please Let me Know... How are They?<BR>The price is incredible....<BR>Thank You.

We spent a weekend at the Milestone during the summer of 2000. It's a fairly typical looking sprawling motel right on rte 1 but we were very pleasantly surprised by the unbelievable cleanliness of the place. We stayed in a room at the top of the hill (right behind the small spa as I recall) and the room was so quiet that we almost slept through check out time! My guess is that rooms closer to the entrance and rte 1 would have to be somewhat less quiet. Room was, as I said, immaculate and well appointed for the price range - location is handy - but not glamorous - their website gave the illusion of its being right on the beach - but it's a car drive through wildly busy traffic to get there. We would stay there again as the place was very comfortable and the low rate allowed us to splurge on a fabulous dinner at Arrows restaurant!<BR>

I have been going to Ogunquit for every summer for the past 28 years. My family used to own a summer home there. Since we sold the summer home, I have always stayed at the Juniper Hill Inn. It is not on the beach, but it is centralized to everything. It is very clean. Has an indoor pool, an outdoor pool. I would never consider staying anywhere else.

Note that the original inquiry was posted in Mid-March!<BR><BR>All three places are very nice. That rate, though, is not available until mid-week in late October (when foliage season is over and the trees are bare) and weekends or mid-week in November (winter rates) and on through, probably, March. Be advised that many restaurants and shops in Ogunquit are seasonal and will be closed for the winter after Columbus Day. There is much less to see and do once the nice weather is over for the year. No boat tours, no outdoor dining, and other obvious activities. And, it can be bitter cold and very windy along the coast once the cold weather sets in. There are some year-round shops and restaurants. But, Ogunquit is a very "quiet" get-away in the off season.

Just back from Ogunquit. I'm sure it's quiet in the off season but right now it's packed. A word to the wise: don't use the trolley unless you have the patience of Job. Spend $7 to park downtown and you'll be much happier.
