off beat shows in Las Vegas
We will be in Las Vegas mid December for 7 days staying at the Bellagio. We plan on taking in O but also want to take in a few off beat lesser known and hopefully lesser priced shows. We would like a topless one but are looking for about two more shows. Any ideas? Thanks.

Blue Man Group at the Luxor is certainly off beat, but not too much cheaper. Just like O and Mystere though, it IS worth the money IMO.

We saw two cheap shows last time in Vegas. One is Mac King (Harrah's) who is a comedian/magician. They hand out 2 for 1 coupons all the time during the day in front of Harrah's, so it basically costs about $6 each, but that includes a drink of your choice. His show was very good, funny and just clean fun. We really enjoyed it. Flamingo has a horrible show called Bottoms Up which is partially topless. The jokes were so stale and the show was so dated, I was actually embarrassed for the cast! Don't waste your time, even if it's free.

make sure to make reservation for O as
soon as possible,it is sold out weeks in advance.
for topless show go see JUBLEE at bally's .

The Amazing Jonathan, I think the show price is $20-25 & he is a riot. Penn & Teller are also very good if they are in town.

Perhaps not off-beat, but kind of an old legend/cult-figure maybe? We saw Charo at the Sahara in May. She puts on a GREAT show; really high-energy, she WANTS to be there, and just does an all-around great job interacting with the audience. (& yes, she is about a million years old, but she still looks pretty good!) The other acts she has in the show with her are good as well. Seating is general admission (about $45); we tipped the maitre'd $20 for the 4 of us and got front row seats.

I saw Splash in Riviera, no idea how much - somebody gave us tickets. A couple of topless dances in the beginning, variety show including figure skating, bike riding, juggling. If the tickets are over $20 don't waste your money. By the way I was surprised to see how formaly the audience was dressed.

Agree with vote for Mac King!! An inexpensive, middle of the day laugh-fest.
In the same venue at night is The Improv, with a revolving cast of comedians. Very funny, and also very inexpensive.
For the feathers and T&A show, check Jubilee at Bally's. Been there since before there was Vegas. Usually can score cheap, 2 for 1, or free tix.
If you haven't booked O yet, you'd better check on availability. Reservations are accepted 90 days before the show. We wanted to go on a Saturday night. I called 88 days before and the room was already more than 2/3 booked. Instead of downstairs middle, we ended up balcony right. Still good seats, but what a surprise. I expressed my surprise to the reservationists when I booked and she said they usually sell out quickly.
