Odds of getting room with 2 beds when booking with Expedia......
 

A friend and I are going to Las Vegas for the first time and I've booked a room at Treasure Island through their web site. I now see that Expedia has a rate $10 per night lower -- we are staying 5 nights. The only problem is that we need a room with 2 beds and Expedia can't guarantee the 2 beds. When talking to an Expedia rep, he didn't think it would be a problem due to Treasure Island's 2,000 room.<BR><BR>I don't know if a $10 per night difference is worth taking the chance of not getting what we need. On the other hand, Las Vegas is for the adventurous and with a hotel that large the odds seem to be with us. Play safe or chance it?

I booked a room at TI thru bestfares and got stuck with 2 beds when I wanted one. We had to move after the 2nd night. If the hotel can guarentee 2 beds,I would do that. At least thats $50 you wont loose at the blackjack table!

No seller of travel can &quot;guarantee&quot; a particular room type. The travel seller has no control over what happens when the traveler arrives at the front desk to check in.<BR><BR>A 2,000 room hotel should not have trouble locating a room with two beds for you when you arrive, regardless of where you make the booking.<BR><BR>

Also the odds of getting a room with 2 beds are pretty good through Expedia (I think) I wouldn't risk it for just $10 a night, especially on your first LV visit. If each one pays for himself the saving will be $25 per person... not worth the risk of ending up in the same bed!

There is a 42 percent chance that you will get a room with two beds, a 39 percent chance that you will get a room with one bed, a 4 percent chance that they will bump you up into a suite with two beds plus a sofa pullout, and a 15 percent chance that they will be full-up and will have to place you into another hotel. <BR><BR>Of course, we forgot the chance that<BR>you'll be put into a room that has NO beds, as happened to several folks who showed up for the grand opening of the MGM Grand a few years back. <BR><BR>At any rate, the house always wins.

My experience with LV hotels is that the one bedded rooms are reserved before the two bedded rooms, so I don't think you will have anything to worry about, and I would rebook at the lower rate.
