Oct vacation
 

Need to find a resort for a long weekend in October for a reunion. It can be anywhere! Amelia Island, FL has been suggested so far. No one will have their own transportation once there, so it needs to be relatively close to an airport. Beach, spa, cycling are among the activites the group would like to have available. Any suggestions?

Ojai Valley Country Club in Ojai, CA. It might be slightly more than 30 miles, but Super Shuttle would probably make custom arrangements. It's got all you require plus golf and you can easily walk or bike into the little town. Fly into LAX or Santa Barbara whichever is more convenient.

Amelia island might be nice... have visited my parents in St. Augustine , south of there and it's a bit touristy but cute for a day. Jacksonville airport should be under 30 miles from there I think

san diego - airport is right in town. great cycling routes in town, or bike up or down the coast. plenty of nice spas around.

Key West Florida! The island is only 4 by 2 miles and is very easy to get around.

San Diego sounds good you can take a train down into Mexico for the day. What about that fabulous historical hotel Cordoba? Help me out if you know the hotel, it was the one in "some like it hot", Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe

It's the Hotel del Coronado.

hotel del is an excellent hotel, right on a beach, tennis and with a great swimming pool. the only downside is that it is always busy since all the tourist go to look. coronado is a great island for biking. you can bike down "the strand" for quite a ways with the ocean on your right and the bay on your left. there is a ferry from coronado that goes to downtown san diego. it would be a good choice and october is a great month...warm days, cool nights and not too many tourists.
