Oct. Honeymoon in Kuaui

I'm researching the lodging options for an October honeymoon on Kuaui. We would like to stay some place that has the amenities, but is not a mega resort. We'd like to avoid big crowds and lots of kids, but don't want to be completely isolated. What's the best honeymoon spot on the island?
Thanks!

The Princeville is the best choice. It will be unforgetable. We stayed there for our 25th Anniversary. It was unreal.

Wouldn't you call Princeville a mega resort? :-?
Last time I was there you just about had to get a transfer ticket for the elevators to get to the beach.
But....a very nice place!!!

October shouldn't have too many kids at most of the resorts.
Congrats and good luck! ((Y))

Kal...I was at a friend's house this weekend and I overheard someone say, "...and have you been to Kauai? There's chickens everywhere! It's almost kind of gross!" I had to laugh..........

When I had to cross the street in Kapa'a at rush hour I became a huge chicken~:>.......It was really grossb(! Kaua'i(Kuau'i?, Kawhye'e?) is not for the faint of heart((U)).....

Chickens in Kaua'i? What's all this whooey? #-O

I'm getting reosrt-phobic in my old age, so I would steer you towards a fabulous beachfront/oceanfront rental house. There are many agencies on the island. I've used NaPali Properties and was happy with them.

Another spot that seems to get raves with honeymooners are the secret beach cottages. www.secretbeachkauai.com.

Old age? You said it, Mr. Q!

I know you said no mega resorts, but I would say the Hyatt is the best honeymoon spot on the island.

The view from the Princeville is beautiful, but a little too sterile for me.
