I have been staying every year for 19 years at the Maui Kai. It is near the former Embassy Suites, just north of the big Kaanapali resort complex. All units are ocean front (you have to leant way out to even see a slip of your neighbor's lanai and cannot see another building unless you are in a corner unit) and have fully equipped kitchens. I really love the quiet and uncrowded beach. You won't find that at the Kaanapali complex. I would never stay anywhere else. All the units are privately owned so they each have a different feel. We have been staying in #402 for the last 2 years and love it. I think their website is Mauikai.com but I'm not sure. You will find it if you put "Maui Kai" in your search engine. There is a comfortable home like feel to the Maui Kai that you don't find at most places. They have a pool and a hot tub but no restaruant. You can go to the Embassy next door for that and come "home" to the Maui Kai. The Sheraton Black Rock is about a 10 minute walk south and it is less than 1o miles from the Kapalua airport so if you stay at the Maui Kai, fly there and save yourself the long lines for cars and the 45 minute drive from the Kahului airport.

Have fun!

Have a great trip!
