Oceanfront condo rentals in Maui?
Any recommendations for places ot rent for family of 5 on Maui?? I looked at VRBO just prefer a personal recommendation. Thanks !!
|
So many pop up on booking.com...are they all reliable? Anyone done this??
|
We just stayed at Wailea Ekahi Village and liked it a lot. It is on the oceanside and has a beachfront pavilion, but non the units are right on the ocean. Our unit did have a gorgeous view of the ocean. Wailea Elua is ocean front.
|
Hale Pau Hana in Kihei is right on a beautiful beach. There are some two bedroom units that could handle a group of five.
There are close to a dozen restaurants within walking distance. |
Both of these sound wonderful! We had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Wailea for free on a business trip many years ago. Want to return with the kids but need a more affordable way to do it...
Thank you!!! Keep posting those ideas!!! |
What is the best location on Maui to rent, as far as being near restaurants etc... ?
|
Hale Pau Hana location near the restaurants is great.. I guess it doesnt matter which local I mean I will be in Hawaii!!
|
I am going to call on the Wailea Ekahi village to make sure the 2 bedrooms can fit 5 of us. Kids are older 21,18 & 16 so need room for sure :)
|
the recommendations above are all South. West Maui near restaurants you'd want Kaanapali or just slightly North.
Honua Kai 1 bedroom + Den are more affordable than 2 bedrooms and allow 5-6. Some 1 Bedrooms and all 2 bedrooms at the Whaler. Maui Kaanapali Villas some 1 and all 2 bedrooms. Those are ideas near restaurants, etc. on West side that sleep 5. |
Great! Thank you! I will look into those as well..
If we are there for the 4th, where should we head to see the show? |
You can see aerials and read reviews here: www.mauirevealed.com
We can help more if we know what time of year you will be on Maui and what you are budgeting per night for lodgings. Most 2BR condos will sleep six if someone will use a hide-a-bed in the living room. You can pay as much as $800/night plus taxes, or much less. Beachfront will cost more than ocean view, and will usually be older, smaller. Do you want South Maui? You might like the new-ish Honua Kai in Kaanapali, West Maui. |
ChiSue- thank you. We are going end of June/ early July. Probably June 27 or 28 to July 5th. But thats flexible. I was hoping to stay around 3-4,000 per week. It seems form from my research, I can find that. I will look at Honua Kai, thank you!
|
Honua Kai is $4700. for 8 nights and definitely has enough space. is that a good location too? I would need grocery store availability. But it sounds like a great option.
|
The Times grocery store is right across the road from Honua Kai. Nice place if you don't mind the huge resort feel. For something a little more low key, have a look at Kahana Village: http://www.kahanavillage.com/.
We were at Ekahi Village wekewoody. Maybe we bumped into you? |
Great to know the store is right there. Save so much money by not having to eat at restaurants all the time...I will look at Kahana...Thank you!
|
I think FacesInTheCrowd and I would get along splendidly. I prefer low-rise, low-density too. Honua Kai is a big elevator building, built in a "U", so most of the balconies are in full view of all the others. Not a great beach. Not on the Kaanapali shuttle into Lahaina. Nice, big units. Fun for some...but I guess not Faces or me! LOL
The OP needn't fret about groceries or restaurants. We assume they will have a rental car like most visitors to Maui. Nothing is very far away unless you are in Kapalua or Makena. (Even there!) A well-vetted selection of South Maui condos is on this site: www.mauiownercondos.com BTW, if you have NOT reserved your rental vehicle for airport pickup...do so immediately. Summer is busy. |
aliiresorts.com great service, great website
loved Kamaole Nalu and Royal Mauian, both are less than you are willing to pay. Stephanie |
ChiSue- thank you for the link..I willl check it out later. And for the tip on vehicle rental..
Stephanie- I will look into your suggestions too! Thanks :) |
I like being able to walk to restaurants after enjoying a few maitais watching the sunset from my lanai.
No driving for us at that point. |
So where would you recommend logandog??
