Ocean City Maryland

Looking t travel to O.C. MD this summer with family & friends.. Looking for a Great Resort, on beach, near all. Do any resorts have Lazy rivers/ water slides in pool? Any help would be great!!!

We stayed at the Hilton a couple of years ago - very nice hotel, on the beach, but a little ways away from the main drag of the boardwalk, so to speak. I don't think there are any lazy rivers in OC, but the Hilton does have a nice kiddie pool with a small slide.

The first time wewent to OC, we stayed at a Holiday Inn resort. It had a fun pool and swim up bar which our kids were fascinated with. howeveron numerous return trips, we found it was much better to rent a condo or house (depending on number of people going and whether we wanted independent time(meaning we could have some separate time). we used long and foster and coldwell banker and were satisfied with both. dont know whose still in business-its been at least 4 years since we rented a place. There are lots of huge condo buildings where each family could rent a place, and here are also lots of huge homes (sleep 12-16+) where the whole group could rent a place

I grew up going to O.C. and I don't recall seeing any places with a lazy river.

That being said, are you set on O.C.? Bethany Beach is just down the road and is a much nicer beach, the town is more quaint and you don't have the teenagers/college crowd that take over the beaches in the summer at O.C.

It's also halfway between O.C. and Rehoboth, so you can still drive down to O.C. for the boarwalk. Although to be honest, we actually just go to Rehoboth for the boardwalk because it's more family oriented and the amusement area there for the kids is much cleaner and a lot cheaper than O.C.

When we go to Bethany, we rent through Resor Quest. They have different price ranges. I think Caldwell Banker also rents there but Resort Quest seems to be the main place to rent from.

I love Ocean City but it's stunningly expensive to stay in, especially in the summer, and with those rates, I don't think hotels are too motivated to add amenities like lazy rivers. Myrtle Beach is a much cheaper (if much further south) option for a beachfront hotel with great pools. We have actually been known to stay in Dover (you can get great mid-week rates at Dover Downs) for OC, although it is a hike. It's also just manageable as a day trip from Philly, where we live.

Looking into Rehoboth now..... actually looks like what we're looking for. Now to find a nice hotel on beach!
