ocean and air temps in GA in Oct?

Hi, All!

My family and I are considering a trip to GA in Oct and were wondering what the ocean and air temps might be. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Check out this website www.ndbc.noaa.gov/rmd.shtml

This is the National Data Buoy Center run by the US Government. They maintain buoys along all US coastlines. It carries both current and historical weather data including air and water temps. Just click on the buoy location closest to your area of interest. As a scuba diver, I keep this site bookmarked to keep an eye on water temps.

Ocean temps 78-80 unless there are storms.

Air temps should be low to mid 80s.

Thank you both, tigerhawk and GoTravel. I was hoping to get a website for it.

It sounds like a great time to go...barring any exciting weather, of course.

One year 12/31 was so warm, the kids played in the ocean on Cumberland Island. You never know. It won't be South Florida temps by any stretch of the imagination, but Oct. can be quite warm or quite cool. The beaches will be great for walking in any case.
